How long does the procedure last?
The procedure usually lasts 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the area treated.

How do I prepare for surgery?
On the day of the procedure you'll be instructed not to wear sunblock, moisturizer or oil.  It will be easier to wear shorts for the procedure and bring a pair of pants to wear home with your support hose.  Your legs will be discolored for a few weeks, so be sure to plan ahead.

What does surgery involve?
A medication is injected directly into the veins which causes them to spasm and disappear from view.  Multiple injections may be necessary.

Will I spend the night in your facility or be released after surgery?
This is usually an outpatient procedure.

When can I return to my normal lifestyle?
Your skin may be bruised, but it usually resolves in 10 to 14 days.  In order to avoid hyperpigmentation, you must protect your skin from the sun after bruising has subsided.  Rest and avoid strenuous activity for 48 hours.  You may also need to wear compression dressing on the treated area for 48 hours.
