How Long Does the Procedure Last?

The procedure usually lasts 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the size of the area treated.

How do I prepare for Laser Hair Removal?

Hair grows in cycles, so you want to plan on multiple treatments when the hair is in the active growth stage. The procedure is most effective when the hair is intact to the follicle and actively growing. Stop plucking, waxing, or using depilatories for 4 to 6 weeks prior to your initial visit. You also must protect your skin from the sun for at least 4 to 6 weeks prior to your initial consultation and while you receive laser treatments. You cannot have this type of laser treatment if you currently have a tan.

What does surgery involve?

The laser radiates a light beam that passes through the skin to the hair follicle. The energy transforms into heat and destroys the follicle. The Thermokinetic Selectivity principle allows the laser to select only the hair follicle, so the skin is less affected.

Will I spend the night in your facility or be released after surgery?

This short procedure is always an outpatient procedure.

When can I return to my normal lifestyle?

Your skin may be sensitive and turn bright pink or red, but it will only last 24 to 48 hours. While Dr. Bradley recommends you always protect your skin from the sun, it will be mandatory while having laser hair removal.

Will I need a follow-up visit?

It usually takes 5 to 8 sessions to treat the hair follicles in various stages of growth. With every procedure, Dr. Bradley strives to provide personal follow-up visits to monitor your progress and answer any post-operative questions.
