- Dr. Bradley
32 year old female with three children. She underwent a full abdominoplasty WITHOUT liposuction. This patient did NOT have plication of the rectus fascia in that there was no laxity of the abdominal wall. Excess skin was removed and a new belly button was made. This procedure takes about 2 hours and is done as an outpatient. Recovery is simplified because there is very little pain (rectus plication causes most of the post operative discomfort with abdominoplasty surgery) and there is not the swelling and discomfort from liposuction. She was back to work in one week and resumed regular activity in about four weeks.
